Because I struggled quite a bit with that playthrough and experienced quite a bit of frustration I'm rating this game a 4/10. If it weren't for the "no kills" playthrough this game, hands down, would've been easier than The Walking Dead for me and I would've rated it a 1/10. Comes with in-built legality checking, mystery gift and trainer editing, among other things. PKHeX (Gen 1 to 7) The crown champion of save editors, this handles saves from every generation. Unless you’re really wanting to play Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One or Shadwen again, it won’t be a problem for most. If somethings not right or if something should be up there but isnt, let us know Main Series. It also sometimes helps when you're in a situation where you want to take out multiple guards at once or you come across an armored guard (you can't sneak up on and backstab these types of enemies) and you don't have a ledge to jump from to perform an air to ground attack or an object to push down on top of them - these weapons really come in handy then! Heres a list of the more prominent save editors out there. It makes the game even more enjoyable tinkering around with the weapons, setting traps and so on. On a side note and though it's not necessary to get through both playthroughs I'd highly recommend going out of your way to loot chests and get blueprints for weapons and the materials needed to craft them. So if you're having trouble at all in your "no kills" playthrough just hang in there because it DOES get better. Once you get the "no kills" playthrough out of the way this game really does begin to shine and becomes not only a lot more fun but a hell of a lot easier as well. However, if you read further on in the above mention thread you'll also see that I began to warm up to the game and actually really enjoy it. Starting now, save up to 60 percent on ambitious puzzlers, Kickstarter-funded student projects. I think all of those let you either save and retry, or flee and get back into stealth mode without messing everything up completely, but my memory might be off in some cases. If you read my comment in the thread titled "I'm Seriously Losing My Mind With This Horrible Game" you'll see that I was a tad bit harsh on the game but only because the "no kills" playthrough was driving me absolutely bat shit! I hated that playthrough and struggled quite a bit between the severely limited options of distraction tools at my disposal and the completely retarded girl you had to get from cover to cover. Which of those are the most noob friendly is a little bit hard to say for me though. The latter features quite a of of forced first person gunplay segments though.)

– Splinter Cell (the whole series I guess, but I have only ever played Chaos Theory, Conviction and Blacklist. – Mark of the Ninja (by far the best 2D stealth experience I ever had.

Other than the two original Thiefs, here is my list of recommended games off the top of my head, as a huge stealth and immersive sim fan: I think that's the best and most fun way to play Thief. If you mess up, just reload and try a different strategy.
#Shadwen save editing how to#
I think the best way to play Thief is actually on the highest difficulty level, so you are forced to not kill any human and explore the levels thoroughly for all the loot (very recommended, because of the aforementioned fantastic level design), but at the same time use the save whenever you want and freely experiment how to deal with enemies and stealth. But even with the original graphics, the atmosphere of those games is still absolutely incredible.ĭifficulty wise you won't have too much of a problem, even as a stealth noob, for the simple fact that you can save wherever and whenever you want. The graphics haven't aged that well though – I'd recommend an HD texture mod. The sound design is also still fantastic.

The map design in both those games is still unparalleled. There are a few games that have easy-to-use level editors, such as Shadwen or Aragami, that make it very easy to quickly sketch out a design idea and try out layouts, timing, approaches, shadows and AI pathing (despite them only going one speed) and stuff. They are still not only among the best stealth games ever made, but among the best games ever made. If you have a PC, definitely play Thief 1 & 2!
